Jacks Hill Waste Treament Site

Waste Treatment Site

Dear All,

You may have read in the Comet about the approval of the Waste Treatment site at Jacks Hill last tuesday (24/5/11). As the development is in Green Belt it will require sign off by the Secretary of State.

This will provide we who disagree with this development going ahead a last opportunity to get it turned down. Attached (see link below) is a Letter Writing Kit detailing reason why you may wish to object and contact details for the Secretary of State.

Given we only have probably six week to object and with the holiday season upon us I thought it best to get it out asap. This development will result in a significant increase in heavy traffic on the B197.

The approval calls for lorries to use Junction 9 A1(M), but as admitted by the planning officer presenting the case this is a restriction which is virtually unenforceable and I strongly suspect Graveley will see a significant increase in traffic volumes.

Regarding SNAP the Localism Bill is having its second reading in the House of Lords on the 7th June 2011.

Kind regards
Jack
